Nigel Manley-Black Bear and Moose-March 7, 2010

Nigel is an avid outdoorsman hunting, fishing, and taking photographs.  Join his presentation as he showcases antlers, wood, and skins to the audience to get people involved.  Learn about the two species.  NIgel has taken photographs throughout the year, and has learned about the natural history in Northern NH by being in the woods of Northern NH.



Bette Frazier - Hiking the Appalachian Trail - March 13, 2010 Saturday: 3:30 p.m.
Bette Frazier hiked the 2,174 mile Appalachian Trail from Springer Mt., GA, to Mt. Katahdin, ME March31August 27, 2007 after retiring from teaching children physical education for 25 years in New Hampshire. Carrying a 28 lb. backpack, eating dehydrated food, encountering rattlesnakes, bear and a bobcat, all make for an exciting adventure to share with the public. She will show her equipment and slide show.



Dr. Allen Koop -“Stark Decency”- March 21, 2010

From 1944-46 the village of Stark, New Hampshire was home to 300 German prisoners of war.  These prisoners cut pulpwood in the local forests.  Surprising, their imprisonment in America grew into friendships formed with the people of Stark, rekindled forty years later in a unique reunion.  Dr. Koop is the foremost authority on this very interesting event in American and Northern New Hampshire history.
